Registration in Ukraine of rights for topography of integrated circuits

Integrated circuit (IC) – microelectronic product of finite or intermediate form designed for realization of functions of an electronic circuit, elements and connection of which are formed together in the volume and (or) on the surface of the product base material irrespective of its production method.

A topography of IC is fixed area on a material object – geometric геометрическое arrangement of set of elements of integrated circuit and connections between them.

The relations arising from acquisition and transaction of property right for topography of integrated circuits (TIC) are regulated by the Law of Ukraine.

A legal protection of TIC is carried out by the state by its registration in the Office. The registration of TIC is carried out under the liability of applicant for its protectability.

The sole right for use of topography of IC is ascertained by Certificate. Period of validity of Certificate is 10 years from the filing date to the Patent Office or from the date of the first usage of TIC.
